Support Groups

Click here to listen to episode 4 of Powerful Thought.

If you are dealing with cancer or another terminal disease, join a support group. You need people who will listen to what you are going through and who will allow you to truly express feeling and, equally important, they'll understand. They are going through many of the same things you are facing and can provide empathy, compassion, insights and, many times good, practical solutions.

Does anyone know of a support group for cardiac amyloidosis patients or their care givers?

Sorry I haven't responded sooner, but my computer crashed and I am just getting back on line.

To find if you have an amyloidosis support group for patients and their caregivers in your area, contact the national office at: www.amyloidosissupport.com

This website is for all types of amyloidosis, not just cardiac; however, many others with other forms of amyloidosis also have cardiac involvement.

We had our first meeting of the suppot group in Denver on August 27th of this year. I learned a great deal from the others who were there whether they had amyloidosis specifically involving the heart or not. I found it very worthwhile and strongly recommend it.
